I paint from both the real, the tangible and visceral places around us and the emotive experience of just needing to use materials to express and process our world. My work lies neither in abstract nor realism - but lives completely in both.

I am an artist, a teacher, a writer and a mentor. I have been working as one of the above, solely, for more than 25 years and have decided through a new venture and programming to bring them all together into Meyer Studios - a place where teens and young adults can utilize a safe space to create for themselves, to get to know themselves and to get to know art.

Primarily a painter, I work in many types of painting media, ceramics, sculpture, paper and sometimes textiles. When I’m not in my studio, I’m with my family and black lab, Ripple.

“Art isn’t just about making beautiful, art is about learning that beauty is in everything.”
